Sugar Cookies

A great sugar cookie recipe – can use cookie cutter 😉

Yields1 Serving

 1 cup unsalted butter
 1 cup sugar
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 ½ tsp almond extract
 1 egg
 1 tsp baking powder
 ½ tsp salt
 3 cups all purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cream butter and sugar until smooth - about 3 minutes

Beat in extracts and egg

In separate bowl, combine dry ingredients

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients a little at a time....dough will be stiff - if it becomes too stiff, turn dough out onto counter - wet your hands and continue kneading the dough

DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH

Divide dough into workable batches

Roll out dough to approx. 1/4 inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters

Bake 6-8 minutes and let cool in pan until firm enough to transfer to wire rack - approx. 5 minutes
